19 fatalities reported on Ky. roadways in one week

FRANKFORT, KY (FOX19) -

Officials say 19 people died on Kentucky roadways last week, according to preliminary statistics.

It happened in 18 separate crashes from Tuesday, May 28 through Sunday, June 2. 

Kentucky State Police (KSP) say the statistics are preliminary as local law enforcement throughout the state continue to report any crashes and fatalities that may have happened in their areas.

Those same statistics indicate 236 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways since the beginning of 2013, which is 75 fewer than reported for this time period in 2012.

As of June 2, Kentucky has had 39 days with zero highway fatalities reported in 2013.

Drivers can help with highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to KSP at 1-800-222-5555. Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.
