Multiple people are hurt after a woman crashes a minivan into the Taco Bell in West Chester. We were alerted to this story when a viewer sent a picture to

It happened Tuesday around 1 p.m. at the location on Princeton-Glendale Road (SR 747).

West Chester police say the driver of the van, Angela Wynne, 36, of West Chester, slammed into the front plate glass window of the restaurant.

According to the police report, Wynne was headed southbound on SR 747 and crossed into the oncoming lanes of traffic. Her van then completely went off the left side of the road, drove over a curb, through the grass, over the drive thru curb and crashed into the restaurant.

Wynne and Summer Lightner, 33, a patron who was inside eating, were both taken to West Chester Medical Center with minor injuries.

Four other customers reported minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital, including a 14-year-old.

West Chester police say they believe Wynne was having a 'medical emergency'. She also had an open container in the van, but was not impaired at the time of the crash.

She was charged with failure to control.

Police say the accident caused extensive damage to the building. The Taco Bell had been remodeled in the past year.

This is the fifth incident this week of a vehicle hitting a building. On Monday, a SUV hit a building in the West End, then a woman hit a bank in Ft. Wright.

Early Tuesday morning, a car hit a burger place in White Oak. Then on Wednesday, a car hit the Great Scott diner in Amelia.
