Kroger presents checks to 6 nonprofits

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

Kroger officials presented checks on Thursday to six non-profit organizations.

The checks were from the annual funds earned through participation in Kroger Community Rewards  Program.

Kroger introduced the program in May of 2012. The first cycle of the program ended on April 20 and $5 million was donated to the more than 2500 organizations participating in the program.

Representatives from Kings Soccer Academy, Mother of Mercy High School Athletic Department, Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy, Northwest High School Athletic Boosters, Animal Friends Humane Society and H.A.R.T Animal Rescue Group were on hand for the presentation.
