COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A teacher at Colerain High School is suspected of having a relationship with a student.
According to a police report, a 36-year-old female chemistry teacher is being investigated for sexual battery.
According to an arrest report from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Northwest Schools asked police on May 15 to investigate an allegation the teacher had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.
"You hear about all these teachers doing that. She obviously was the last person I would ever think of doing that. Didn't really sound like that kind of person. Never thought that would happen but I guess that's today's society," former student of this teacher Grant Hunter.
Officials with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office say they believe charges will likely be filed soon.
Right now, investigators are digging into phone records.
Deputies say they don't believe there are any other victims but they will continue to investigate.
"It's quite disturbing that that's happening. One she should lose her job, two she should lose her teaching license," former Colerain HS student Kyle Hunter.
School district officials told FOX19 last month that she was placed on administrative leave on May 17 and that administrators had been cooperating with police.
