The last report cards of the year will be coming home soon, and parents aren't the only ones who like to reward their kids for good grades. You can use those A's and B's to score hot deals at businesses all over town.
Liz Costello created CompletelyKidsRichmond.com as a resource for parents, and she's got the freebie honor roll!
"They know how hard kids are working, and they want them to understand how much their grades will mean going forward and how important it is to learn," said Costello.
At the Krispy Kreme store, an 'A' equals a doughnut. Children in sixth grade or younger can receive up to a half a dozen free.
Bowl America's "rolling rewards" gives your child one free game of bowling for every 'A' or 'B' earned on the final report card.
Score an 'A' - get a free Flying Squirrels ticket. The entire family benefits on this one, you can get up to eight.
"It really goes a long way when you add up several subjects times seven or eight dollars a ticket."
What kid doesn't like candy? At the Sweet Spot, honor roll knocks 20% off any purchase. Plus your child could win a coveted spot in the secret society of candy tasters.
"They get to try 12-15 brand new candies that we don't even have in our store yet and they get the critic card and they get to write about it, what they like and what they don't," said co-owner Chris Triano.
Chuck E Cheese gives your smart child 15 extra tokens for good grades and certain Pizza Huts offer free personal pan pizzas.
At Color Me Mine, each 'A', 'E' and 'S' will knock a dollar off the studio fee.
"Some of them hug their pieces, they painted it themselves, they pick out the colors and they sign their works, they really enjoy the whole process of making it their own," said owner Thai Phan.
