Women pose as nurses, rob elderly in Defiance

DEFIANCE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

DefiancePolice are looking for two people involved in a scam against senior citizens.

Policesay two women are posing as nurses and asking to come inside residents' homesto look through their medication. It's happened at least seven times in thelast week.

"They'llchat them up," said Assistant Police Chief Jeffrey Mack. "They're veryfriendly, wearing nurse-like outfits."

Somepills went missing from at least one of the homes.

"That'ssomething that would infuriate me if that happened to one of my family members,"said Jason Duncan, a Defiance resident.

Nowthose who live in the area say they'll do what they can to help keep neighborssafe. Police are urging senior citizens to make sure they know who they'reletting into their homes.

"Anylegitimate home health care worker is going to have identification," Mack said."Ask for it when somebody comes to the door."
