COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, HAMILTON COUNTY, OH (FOX19) – - A Harrison Township man is dead after his pickup truck crashed while he was trying to merge onto I-71 at Red Bank Road on Friday night.

Fifty-five year old James Tenover was driving his 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck on the ramp from the Red Bank expressway to northbound 71 when he somehow lost control.  He went off the right side of the road and struck the guardrail, then careened to the left, taking him over the grass triangle and across all three lanes of I-71 before he slammed head-on into the wall next to the high-speed lane.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

Tenover was taken to University Hospital Medical Center by the Deer Park/Silverton squad, but was pronounced dead there.  The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says he was wearing seat belts.  The crash closed I-71 for about an hour.  The Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
