AURORA, IN (FOX19) - Two people were sent to the hospital after a crash Wednesday night in Aurora.
It happened near the intersection of U.S. 50 and SR 148.
Police say a Ford Explorer driven by Kayla Barrett, 16, of Aurora, was eastbound on U.S. 50 approaching S.R. 148. According to a witness, Barrett ran the red light and struck a 2007 Jeep Liberty driven by Bonnie Banschbach, 64, of Aurora, who had just pulled into the U.S. 50 intersection from Manchester Landing.
Both drivers were trapped in their vehicles although Barrett was able to free herself from the vehicle prior to the arrival of emergency crews. Banschbach had to be extricated from her vehicle by Aurora Fire Department.
Both drivers were transported to Dearborn County Hospital with non life threatening injuries. Barrett was cited for Disregarding an Automatic Signal.
