Georgetown offering amnesty program

GEORGETOWN, KY (FOX19) - The Georgetown Mayor's Court is going to offer a one-time amnesty program to offenders who have outstanding warrants, fines and costs owed to the Village of Georgetown.

This program will be offered only to those who were charged with a violation prior to Jan. 1, 2011. This program will run from July 1, 2013 through September 2, 2013.

The Amnesty Program will offer a 50 percent payout on the amount owed to the village.

Contact the Village of Georgetown at 937-378-6395 Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. to confirm the amount that you will need to pay. Payments can be made by cash, money order, check, or credit card if paid during the hours listed above. Credit card payments can also be made online or over the phone.

Patrolman Vicky Coburn will be available on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist those who are unable to come in during the week. Credit card payments will not be available on weekends.

Warrant(s) will be recalled and licenses that are under suspension through the Village of Georgetown will be removed once the outstanding debt to the village is paid.
