Man's 240 mile walk to support victims of sexual violence

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A man is walking across the state of Ohio in 10 days to raise awareness for victims of sexual violence.

In the wake of the imprisonment and sexual abuse of three Cleveland women, Alex Sheen, founder of because I said I would, promised 10 days of his life to Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight in honor of their perseverance.

To keep the promise, Sheen is walking 240 miles across the state in 10 days.

His journey begins in Cincinnati on Saturday at Friendship Park. Sheen is expected to arrive at the women's house of imprisonment at 2207 Seymour Avenue in Cleveland on June 25.

Sheen is also encouraging people to partake in random acts of kindness as a symbol of support for victims of sexual violence.

Proceeds from the event will benefit RAINN, the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization, and Cleveland Courage Fund.
