CLIFTON, OH (FOX19) - Nearly a year and a half since community leaders broke ground on the new U Square at The Loop development, the four acre project near the University of Cincinnati just keeps on growing.
UC student Emma Williams told FOX19's Jessica Brown, "I really like it because there was nothing there before."
Now, drive along Calhoun Street and you'll see new apartments, parking garages and a new bar and restaurant.
Construction at the new St. Clair bar kicked off in December 2012.
"The bar will hold about 50-70 people and then we got a patio outside that will hold another 20 people," explained Four Entertainment Group (4EG) Manager Bob Deck.
St. Clair sits right next to the new Keystone Bar & Grill that's also in the works, a project that will create more jobs and attract more people to the Clifton area.
"We're looking to hire about 50 plus for the Keystone restaurant and about 20 for St Clair," said Deck.
Deck describes it as 'a place where people can congregate', as well as dine and shop.
Keystone Bar & Grill will open by the end June, and St. Clair will officially open the week of July 8.
Project developer Towne Properties says there will be nine more restaurants and bars opening by the end of the summer, including Mr. Sushi, Starbucks and even a Waffle House that will open Tuesday.
The $78 million, mixed-use project includes 161 apartments that will also open August 1.
