FORT MITCHELL, KY (FOX19) -

Water rescue divers searched a lake near the scene of a murder in Fort Mitchell.

Michaela Briede, 18, was killed on May 28 in her apartment on West Chelsea Circle.

Kenton County Commonwealth Attorney Rob Sanders tweeted photos of crews searching for evidence in a lake near Briede's apartment on Wednesday evening.

Sanders would not way what investigators were looking for, but did say the search didn't turn up anything related to the case.

"Unfortunately dive turned up nothing but old shopping cart, baby stroller, and beer mug. But not for lack of effort," Sanders tweeted.

Sanders says the team used a "training exercise" sign to keep crowds away.

Anyone with information on Briede's murder should call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
