"Walbridge Most Wanted" - catching criminals with Facebook

Walbridge, OH (Toledo News Now) -

TheWalbridge police are now using social media to try to catch criminals. They'reposting mug shots of criminals with arrest warrants on Facebook, calling it the"Walbridge Most Wanted."

Andpolice say they've seen an increase in getting criminals off the streets sincethey started postingto Facebook. Walbridge residents like the system, too.

"It'swonderful. How else do you know there's crime?" said Kathy Pfister. "This way,we know what they look like if they're out and about, so if they're in yourneighborhood, you can see them."

Onephoto posted on Facebook is of Clint Hill, who police say is extremelydangerous. He's wanted for felony domestic violence after police say he beat apregnant woman. He's also wanted for felony abduction, theft, and aggravatedtrespassing.

"Weneed an extra set of eyes out there looking for the people," said Matt Simon,police captain. "Police need the help of citizens to help us do our job, tohelp us keep them safe."

Thepost has received several hundred shares on Facebook. Police say they'vereceived numerous tips about Hill's possible whereabouts, and that it's only amatter of time before he's behind bars.
