LENAWEE COUNTY, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Some roads will be closed in Lenawee County over the next few days, but not for construction. The fourth installment of the Transformers movie franchise will be filmed in Fairfield Township.

Traffic on a busy stretch of M-52 will be replaced by Autobots and Decepticons.

"It will be exciting to see some high-dollar pyrotechnics before the Fourth of July on somebody else's dime," said Jim Lawrence, whose property will be filmed on.

Director Michael Bay is bringing his wildly popular, action and explosion-packed series to southeast Michigan.

The Michigan Film Office said the state approved a $20 million incentive to film there.

"The State of Michigan and the local economy is getting a little shot in the arm," Lawrence said. "And it's a different venue for the kind of movie. Most of my buddies thought it was pretty cool."

From June 25 until 9 a.m. on June 29, M-52 will be closed from Mulberry to Weston. The nearby wheat fields will be the backdrop for a crash scene.

Lawrence was approached by Paramount Pictures because his land is in that 2-mile stretch.

"I thought it was a prank call," he said. "She had a contract for trespass rights and they're going to blow stuff up and roll cars and wanted to know if it was okay to do it in my yard."

Lawrence admits he's not much of a Transformers fan, but when this one comes out in 2014, he says he might have to watch.

"I'll probably watch this one just to see what it looks like," he said. "Hopefully they blow up the house, and I get paid for that. We'll see."
