HARTWELL, OH (FOX19) - The man accused of killing a Hartwell business owner was in court on Thursday.
John Deloney, 27, is being held without bond.
Deloney was arrested last Wednesday in Indianapolis after an manhunt resulted in him turning himself in at Indianapolis Police headquarters on an open warrant for aggravated murder. He was extradited back to Cincinnati on Wednesday.
Deloney is accused of murdering Richard Evans, 50, at Cosmic Pizza on Woodsdale Avenue earlier this month.
Investigators say Deloney entered the store and place an order for food. He then produced a handgun and demanded money. Evans and Deloney struggled for the gun and Evans was shot at close range.
After being shot, Evans attempted to escape from Deloney, but the prosecutor says Deloney continued to follow him and shoot three additional times. Evans exited the restaurant and made it to a front yard adjacent to his establishment, where he died.
Deloney was extradited to Cincinnati and booked into the jail on Tuesday.
Deloney is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County Court on Thursday.
