CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The 2013 Ohio Counties Bike Route Guide is more than just a bike guide according to Todd Portune, Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) Board president and Hamilton County city commissioner.

This year's guide is a combination of routes throughout Butler, Clermont, Hamilton, and Warren counties that includes additional neighborhood streets, "memory" hills, and "problem areas" in specific intersections.

The reverse side of map includes areas of revised road classifications in addition to resources about riding and maintenance for cyclists.

Suggestions were solicited through a social media campaign coordinated by OKI Senior Planner and Bicycle/Pedestrian Don Burrell, prompting more than 200 changes for the map in a two week period.

"The campaign was extremely successful," said Burrell. "We have held open meetings in the past to get the community involved. With this new campaign, we were able to really listen to the many more community's needs and create a comprehensive map that's efficient and easy to use."

Copies of the map are free of charge and available at area bike shops upon request. Maps are also available at the OKI office or here {PDF}.
