Lockdown lifted at Antioch College after man seen carrying gun

YELLOW SPRINGS, OH (FOX19) -

Antioch College near Dayton was on lockdown for a portion of Thursday after a report of a man wearing camouflage and carrying a gun.

According to the school's website, a man carrying a gun was spotted at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the Glen Helen Nature Preserve located adjacent to the Antioch College campus.

Law enforcement immediately arrived, and the campus crisis plan was set into action.

By 4 p.m., the campus was officially removed from the lockdown. While the person was not caught, authorities believe the cause for concern is over.

School officials posted on their website to 'be watchful over the next few days'.

The suspect was a white male, 6 foot, wearing long sleeve camouflage and long pants, dark brown hair. Call 911 if you see any suspicious people.

Antioch College is a private, independent nonprofit liberal arts college in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
