(FOX19) - Police were called to an area of the Great Miami River Friday on a report of a possible drowning.
Authorities say a 29-year-old man was with two women and jumped into the river near Ohio 128 and Route 50. He then hid from the women as a prank, and as a result, they called 911 thinking he might have drowned.
Upon arrival of police, it became clear the man had been playing a prank and there was no real danger. Both Miami and Whitewater Township Police responded to the scene.
He was the charged with inducing panic and trespassing and taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.
