4 injured in Florence head-on crash

FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Four are injured following an head-on collision in Florence, Kentucky.

The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. Saturday morning on US-25 between Melinda Lane and Garden Drive.

Police say that 34-year-old Jason Messer of Union, Ky. was headed northbound on US-25 when his vehicle went left-of-center. Messer's vehicle collided with a southbound 1996 Toyota Camry driven by 55-year-old Kathy Capps.

Both drivers were transported to the hospital with reported non-life threatening injuries.

In addition to the drivers, two passengers in the Camry were also injured. Michael Capps, 35, and Jesse Wehrman, 15, were both transported to the hospital. There has been no word on the extent of their injuries.

US-52 was shut down for over an hour as crews cleared the scene. It has since reopened.

The accident is currently under investigation.
