Sheriffs warn of burglary scam in Turtlecreek Twp., Warren Co. - Cincinnati News, FOX19-WXIX TV

Warren Co. woman lured from home in burglary scam

TURTLECREEK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

The Warren County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a local burglary scam to lure victims from their home.

Authorities say an elderly woman was the victim of a burglary on Tuesday where suspects posed as a contractor for an electric company.

The victim, who lives on State Route 741 in Turtlecreek Township, said a white male knocked on her door and said he was a contractor for the electric company. He was able to lure her outside by saying he needed to know where her property line started and ended.

Once the victim was outside, authorities say her home was burglarized.

The suspect is described as an average build with short dark hair.

Although the woman did not see anyone else with him, detectives believe there were others involved.

The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate and wants the public to be aware of these types of scams to lure victims from their homes.
