STONELICK TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A 6-year-old boy was killed Wednesday in a golf cart accident in Stonelick Township.
Authorities say the child was struck and trapped under the golf cart until an adult arrived and lifted it off of him. It happened in the 5000 block of State Route 222 around 4 p.m.
The driver, a 7-year-old neighbor and friend, said the victim was 'racing him' on foot.
As they neared a sharp bend, the 7-year-old driver turned the cart, hit the boy and the golf cart came to a stop on top of him.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, the father and grandmother of the victim, as well as the grandfather of the driver, were home at the time but did not see the accident happen.
Further investigation and a full report are pending.
