Hundreds of people, young and old, donned America's colors
in Florence Wednesday night.
It might have been July 3rd, but in Florence,
it's time to celebrate Independence Day.
"This is something we just
came out here just ourselves. We just decided when we got off work. He
said I want to go out there and see them old cars. I said, 'Let's go!,'"
said Cathy Ritter, who lives in Erlanger.
Big or small, there was something
for everyone to help ring in the holiday. From music to rides and games,
and a car cruise-in and lots of food, it was the perfect way to celebrate.
"What was my favorite
part? All the food! We've already tried the pretzels, and the
pickles, and we're going to go over here and try something else right here in a
minute," added Ritter.
What could make the 4th
of July holiday more perfect? An appearance by Uncle Sam, of course.
"It's Uncle Sam and it's the
Fourth of July! You've really got to do it, right," said Dan Stewart
dressed as Uncle Sam, who lives in Florence.
Stewart is with a local church
youth group raising money through their food stand at the celebration.
He's just happy the threatening rain held off for the fun and festivities.
"They had a rain date of
tomorrow the fourth, and I think tomorrow's when it's going to rain. We
absolutely wouldn't be able to do this tomorrow. Last year was so
hot. This year is just perfect. Perfect, perfect Fourth of July
weekend," added Stewart.
