CINCINNATI (FOX19) - For only the fifth time in baseball history, fans have voted teammates to start on the right side of the infield. Those teammates play for the Reds.
Major League Baseball announced the rosters for this month's All Star Game on FOX Saturday night and Joey Votto became the first Red to earn consecutive starts in the mid-summer classic since Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin in 1999-2000.
It's Votto's fourth career All Star Game.
Brandon Phillips will be playing in his third All Star Game, but first as a starter. He's the first Reds second baseman voted in since Joe Morgan.
Aroldis Chapman was also selected. It's his second consecutive trip to the All Star Game.
Votto, Phillips and Chapman are the only Reds to make the team. You can see the game on FOX19 Tuesday July 16th at 7:30pm.
