Amy Wagner joining FOX19 as anchor and investigative reporter

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A familiar face will be joining the FOX19 team.

On Monday, our News Director Kevin Roach announced that Amy Wagner is joining the FOX19 team as Friday and Saturday night anchor and investigative reporter. 

"Amy is an aggressive, hard working, experienced local reporter and all around terrific person; and she is a native of Cincinnati," Roach said in a note to the FOX19 staff.

Amy was a reporter and fill-in anchor at WLWT-TV from 2004-2011. Prior to that she worked as an anchor and reporter at WLKY-TV in Louisville and WBKO-TV in Bowling Green, KY.

"She comes to us already having equity with Tri-State news viewers," said FOX19 General Manager Bill Lanesey, "Amy's knowledge of our community makes her the perfect addition to our local news team."

During the week Amy will be part of an investigative unit being built by Roach. "Amy has the journalistic instincts to pursue the big stories," said Roach, "She is great at telling all sides of the story and delivering a balanced report." 

Amy has been acknowledged for her strong reporting. She was a Peter Jennings Fellow, selected from hundred of journalists across the country to work on constitutional issues in daily reporting. She is a national winner of a Society of Professional Journalists award for Public Service Reporting and was winner of the Crimestopper of the Year Award winner for media reporting. 

"FOX19 is committed to doing in-depth investigations that will matter to our viewers.  It's the kind of journalism you can't find anywhere else in this market," said Amy Wagner, "I'm proud to be a part of it."  

She was also the Development Director for Susan G. Komen of Greater Cincinnati from June of 2011 to January of this year.

Her first day is Tuesday July 16.
