3 teens arrested for multiple Downtown robberies

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

Three juveniles are arrested for allegedly robbing and beating innocent bystanders in downtown Cincinnati.

Police are investigating a series of four different incidents that all happened in the downtown business district.

Chadwick Laumann, 19, was walking to work like every other day near 4th and Main Street. However, around 9 p.m. on a Saturday he sensed something was wrong when three younger boys followed him off the bus.

"They decided to ask me where Fountain Square was and I was like, 'okay I'll tell them'. Then I continued to my bus stop and that's when they pushed me over and started trying to mug me and everything," Laumann told FOX19's Brett Hoffland.

It was one move that Laumann made before he was beaten up that was key in giving up the three suspects' identities.

"I made sure I stepped in front of the camera so I could be seen," he said.

The three 16-year-olds, Cortez Baker, Randolph Jones, and Kentrelle Aldridge, have been arrested and charged in connection with these crimes dating from June 1 to July 4.

Daniel Johnson says he walks downtown all the time and curfews need to be set for these younger teenagers.

"I've always felt safe walking back and forth between Newport and Cincinnati. We're going to continue to do what we do but we have to be more aware," said Johnson.

Laumann took kicks and punches, had his wallet stolen and says he was threatened with a gun. He's hoping others will take the proper steps to avoid these situations.

"They can attack any time of day, it doesn't matter, and always make sure you're with someone if you can," said Laumann.

Additional charges are pending for another offense that happened on June 24.

Investigators obtained video footage at the same location of another subject who was robbed, but that victim has yet to come forward or be identified.

If you know anything about these incidents, call Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
