PLEASANT PLAIN, OH (FOX19) - A Pleasant Plain woman needs your help locating a missing service dog, one who has saved the lives of many other four-legged friends.

Cody is a brown and white, male, Australian Shepherd works with his owner Paula Heckathorn to save the lives of other dogs by showing them proper behavior and teaching them manners.

Heckathorn is a dog behavior specialist and works with local rescues and their difficult dogs to help find forever homes. She says Cody has been missing from his Pleasant Plain home since June 30.

He ran away after being hit by a car on Morrow Rossburg Road. Cody was slightly injured, very frightened and may be limping.

Cody is wearing a collar with a School Road address.

Some of the dogs Paula and Cody work with are on their way to be euthanized unless they can be re-trained. Together they have re-trained and saved countless dogs.

Heckathorn was professionally schooled on how to effectively use Cesar Millan's training techniques on dogs with challenging issues.

She says Cody is her number one training partner. Anyone with information is asked to contact Paula Heckathorn at (513) 703-9881.
