Longtime Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshall is confirming that he will not seek re-election and is endorsing a new man for the county's top law enforcement position.
Marshall through his support to Chief Deputy Derrick Cunningham saying he's the most qualified person to be Montgomery's next sheriff.
The two men are no strangers. Cunningham followed Marshall from the Montgomery Police Department to the Sheriff's Department. They've worked closely for the last 14 years.
Sheriff Marshall's term officially ends in January 2015.
