Car plows into Longview house

LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) -

One driver was sent to the hospital Tuesday night after losing control of his car, and driving into a house.

It happened just after 7PM in the 2100 block of Pine Tree Road in Longview.

Police say that the driver lost control of his SUV, went off the road, hit an electrical pole, then hit the side of a house.

The pole fell across Pine Tree Road, hitting another truck that was driving nearby. The driver of the truck was not hurt.

One person in the home at the time of the accident was not hurt, but said he thought the crash was loud thunder when it happened.

The driver of the SUV will also be ticketed for driving at an unsafe speed.

When the electrical pole that was struck fell across the road, the connecting wires also pulled down the top of a second pole on the other side of the street.

Police tell KLTV 7 that the neighborhood traffic flow will be disrupted for most of the night while power crews work on the damaged pole.

Stay tuned to KLTV 7 for further updates.
