Victim identified in fatal S. Cumminsville shooting

SOUTH CUMMINSVILLE, OH (FOX19) -

Police have named the victim following a fatal shooting in South Cumminsville.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 1700 block of Elmore Street around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.

Upon arrival, first responders quickly located the victim and transported him to University Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Police have identified the victim as 49-year-old Gary Gilbert.

Police are still looking for the shooter in the incident. The suspect has been described as approximately 20 years old, wearing a gray t-shirt, a black skull cap and blue jean shorts. The suspect is said to be armed with a hand gun.

Homicide units are continuing their investigation.
