Mayor Luken To Make Trip To Germany

Cincinnati mayor to make business trip to Germany

Cincinnati's mayor is planning an economic-development trip to Germany that is to be paid for by private businesses. Mayor Charlie Luken says he is leaving tomorrow for the week-long business trip to Cincinnati's sister-city of Munich, Germany. Luken said he plans to meet with German companies doing business or interested in doing business in Cincinnati, along with Cincinanti companies operating in Germany.

The Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce has arranged the meetings. Luken said Delta Air Lines, Fifth Third Bank, General Electric Aircraft Engines and a German restaurant company are paying for his trip - not the taxpayers. The Cincinnati mayor last visited Munich in 1989.
