SPRING GROVE VILLAGE, OH (FOX19) -

A walk at Spring Grove Cemetery honors the lives of three young women killed in tragic car accidents by raising money for charity.

The Third Annual Walk of Angels was held on Sunday morning.

The event has been organized solely by Kortney Pifher. Pifher attends The Ohio State University and is a former member of the CCAA Blaze soccer team.

The soccer team tragically lost three members of their team in tragic car accidents. Two young women were killed in 2007 and one in 2009.

Pifher created the event to honor the young lives and to raise money for two charities. The event sponsored ‘Driving Angels', a charity sponsoring teenage driving safety, as well as helping those athletes who want to play soccer at a competitive level but can't afford to do so.

The walking course was specially designed to pass by two of the girls who are buried at Spring Grove.

A butterfly release signaled the beginning of the walk/run at 8:30 a.m.
