(Toledo News Now) -

Police arrested suspect Calvin Dixson in Cleveland on Monday. He was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting in Fostoria on Sunday that took the life of one woman.

The Fostoria Police Department says a mother and daughter were shot sitting inside a car parked at a home on the 200 block of Bannister Street around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Lisa Stowers, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds. Her daughter, 36-year-old Tyeesha Ferguson was also wounded. Ferguson was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

According to police, Dixson may have acted in a jealous rage.

"We believe Dixson is the estranged boyfriend of one of the victims, " said Fostoria Police Captain Patrick Brooks. "We do believe it was a domestic-type squabble. He had been making threats with her."

Captain Brooks says Ferguson had a no contact order filed against Dixson in Lucas County in December 2012.

Police believe Dixson parked his car on 6th Street, walked through an alley to the home were Ferguson and Stowers were located, opening fire, then taking off running back to his vehicle. Police say they were able to get a description of Dixson's older model Ford pickup truck with a trailer attached because a witness spotted him driving away.

Family members of the victims say Dixson was known for living on various campgrounds in his trailer.

Neighbors and relatives who live on the same street heard the gunshots and called 911.

"It's unbelievable how somebody could do that," said Tyler Swanigan.

"It's pretty scary if you're living around here when it happens," said Akhara Mondle.

The Fostoria Police Department issued a warrant against Dixson for aggravated murder before his arrest. A tip came into police in Cleveland that Dixson had been spotted in the city. He was arrested shortly after near 143st in Cleveland just before noon on Monday.

According to Fostoria Police, Dixson's bond has been set at $1 million. He is expected to be extradited back to Fostoria within the next seven days.

Police say Ferguson is no longer listed in critical condition. She is awake and talking to family members.
