Hillsboro councilman facing weapons, open container charges

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, OH (FOX19) - Hillsboro City Council member David Shoemaker appeared in court Wednesday facing weapons and open container charges.

Police say Shoemaker was found wandering down I-71 near Jeffersonville, Ohio early Tuesday morning.

He was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, having a weapon while intoxicated and having an open container.

Shoemaker entered a not guilty plea during his arraignment at the Washington Court House Municipal Court. He was released and will await trial on house arrest.
