South Dearborn schools head back to class

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN (FOX19) - The first students in the Tri-State went back to school on Wednesday.

The FOX19 Morning News was live at South Dearborn High School to talk with them about the distinction of being the first school in the area to head back to class.

"Hey, we're getting out ahead of the pack. We're ready to go, getting the people in early and rolling on what they need to be successful," said South Dearborn High School Principal Micah Thomas.

School officials say the district is on track to improve in many areas, including adding more dual credit opportunities, which allow students to get credit in class for both high school and college.
