The Covington Farmers Market located at Court Street and Park Place will begin to accept the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits beginning August 10.
Staff from the Northern Kentucky Health Department will be at the market from 9:00 a.m. until noon on to distribute Farmers Market WIC vouchers to eligible clients.
A partnership with Renaissance Covington, the Northern Kentucky Health Department and the City of Covington's Recreation Department matches funds for the WIC program at the Market through the Achieve grant as a part of a community-wide health initiative called Move. Breath. Grow. Covington.
For each Saturday, the initiative will offer a financial match for WIC vouchers up to $4 every Saturday, limited to one person per visit.
The Covington Farmer's Market downtown is open from 9:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. every Saturday from May until October.
