The second shooting took place just after 12 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4, on E. 149th St.  Police found the first victim laying on his stomach.  He told officers that he and his friends were outside hanging out, having a good time when a car drove by shooting.  He stated that he ran into a backyard where he encountered an armed man who shot him as he was turning to run away. A second victim states that he was at a friend's house and  heard shooting down the street.  He states that he went to dive on the porch when he realized that he had been shot.  Both victims were unable to identify their shooters and were taken to area hospitals.

Third District Detectives handled the third shooting which happened on Sunday, Aug. 4 at around 2 a.m. in the area of East 38th and Superior.  A 39-year-old Elyria man says that he was approached by two men who demanded money but shot him before he could give them his money.  The victim drove himself to a fire station  at 1645 Superior for help.  He was shot in both his right and left lower leg and upper right thigh.  The shooters fled the scene and at this time there are no leads in identifying them.

A security guard was shot during the fourth shooting of the weekend which took place just after 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4.  The victim told police that he was shot outside of the Epic Club, where he works.  He stated that the suspect asked him a question and he was then beat up by four males.  During the fight the victim was shot and the unknown men fled the scene.

The fifth shooting occurred in the 12700 block of Griffing Ave. at around 3:15 a.m.  The victim reported that he was walking in the middle of the street when he noticed two males walking on the opposite side of the street, headed in the same direction.  The victim says that one of the males told him that  he was not allowed to walk in the neighborhood.  The victim says that he tried to walk away when the other male  came towards him and that's when he heard a gun shot.  The victim was hit in the back of his left leg.  The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction and the victim was transported to MetroHealth Hospital.
