Citizen serves as Cincinnati's police chief for a day

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A woman won the chance to serve as Cincinnati's top cop for the day through a fundraiser for the St. Joseph Orphanage.

Sharon Sowders spent Tuesday as the chief of police. She arrived at Cincinnati Police District 1 and was greeted by Interim Chief Paul Humphries.

Sowders received a Segway demonstration, attended the chief's morning meeting, visited the criminalistics division of the department, watched a K9 unit and SWAT team demonstration and even visited the target range.

Sowders won the 'Police Chief for a Day' auction item for several hundred dollars at the St. Joseph Orphanage Spring Gala in May.
