A crash on Interstate 35 in Clinton County created a squealing mess.
The southbound lanes on I-35 just north of Highway 36 remain closed, Cameron police said at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Northbound lanes were affected for a time, but are now open.
A truck traveling south on I-35 hit a wall of water from storms and the driver lost control. The truck careened into a northbound rig hauling the pigs.
The driver of the truck suffered a leg injury, but is expected to be OK. The driver of the semi wasn't injured.
The trailer overturned on its side, spilling swine. The survivors roamed the highway and median. Some of the hogs were injured or died, Cameron police said.
The Missouri Highway Patrol is overseeing the investigation. The crash occurred at mile marker 55.
