(RNN) – One of the three Powerball winners came forth and claimed his prize on Thursday.
Paul White, a project engineer from Anoka County, MN, chose the cash option - $86 million before taxes.
According to the Associated Press, White purchased two tickets and one matched all six numbers.
Two other grand prize-winning tickets were sold in New Jersey in Wednesday's $448 million Powerball lottery.
According to reports from the Asbury Park Press and Press of Atlantic City, a group of employees from the Ocean County Vehicle Maintenance Department owned one of the three winning tickets in Wednesday night's $448 million Powerball jackpot.
The winning numbers for one of the largest jackpots in history were 5-25-30-58-59, and the Powerball was 32. Sue Dooley, a coordinator for the Multi-State Lottery Association, confirmed there were three winners somewhere out there after the drawing, according to the Associated Press.
A spokeswoman for the New Jersey Lottery told the AP one of the tickets was purchased at a store in South Brunswick and the other in Little Egg Harbor. No specifics have been provided on where the Minnesota winner came from.
The $425 million estimated jackpot swelled to $448 million amid a flurry of ticket sales after rolling over Saturday with no winner. It was the third-largest jackpot ever offered in Powerball.
The surge of people checking tickets crashed the Powerball website after the numbers were announced.
Powerball is played in 43 states, plus Washington, D.C. and the Virgin Islands.
The largest Powerball win came in May, when an elderly Florida woman won $590 million. She opted for a lump sum of around $370 million.
The change from $1 tickets to $2 has decreased overall ticket sales but increased the chances of massive jackpots. The game was also changed to include more "small" winners of $1 million and $2 million.
Powerball sales were $5.9 billion for the fiscal year ending in June, the AP reported.
