CLERMONT COUNTY, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County road is closed after a tanker truck spills its hazardous load.
Thursday morning, a tanker truck crashed on Garrison Spurling Road near Ernies Drive, in Wayne Township.
Wayne Township Fire and Rescue responded to the scene to investigate and determined the liquid to be a mixture of aviation fuel and fungicide, necessitating spill containment and a subsequent environmental cleanup.
Approximately 200 gallons of aviation fuel was spilled on an adjacent cornfield.
The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital for observation.
The truck has been removed, but Garrison Spurling will remain closed from Martin to State Route 28 until the environmental clean up is complete later this afternoon or early evening.
The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will oversee the cleanup process.
