Police: Man shot seven times in attempted robbery

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A man is recovering from being shot multiple times in a robbery in North Avondale on Saturday evening.

The Cincinnati Police responded to a call for a shooting after 7:00 p.m. on Saturday on Glenwood and Washington Avenues. A man was allegedly robbed by an armed assailant who shot him seven times, one in the head, with a nine millimeter handgun.

The victim was able to communicate with authorities and was taken to the hospital. Doctors performed surgery on the victim, who is now recovering.

The police have not yet apprehended the suspect who is described as a black male wearing a yellow shirt with dark horizontal stripes.
