Fire leaves E. Walnut Hills cabin a total loss

EAST WALNUT HILLS, OH (FOX19) -

A hillside cabin in East Walnut Hills is said to be a total loss after a fire broke out Tuesday.

It happened at a two-story log cabin over the hillside in the 2400 block of Ingleside Avenue around 5 p.m.

Fire crews had to navigate an area described as "very rough and difficult terrain" in order to put out the fire. It was put out in approximately 45 minutes.

Authorities say the cabin was vacant at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported.

According to the Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD), damage was estimated at $250,000 and the cabin was a total loss.

A total of 37 firefighters responded to the fire and remained at the scene for over two hours.

The cause remains under investigation by the CFD Investigation Unit.
