BLOOMFIELD, CT (WFSB) -

A Central Connecticut State University football player has succumbed to his injuries after a car crash in Bloomfield in July.

Jaram Johnson, 19, was pronounced dead earlier this month.

Johnson was involved in a two-car crash on Blue Hills Avenue. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but police said the speed of Johnson's car may have been a factor.

Two others were injured in the crash.

Johnson, a Bloomfield native, was a pre-accounting major and defensive end for the Blue Devils.

The funeral will be held on Friday at The First Cathedral in Bloomfield.
