WASHINGTON, D.C. (WWBT) -

A Virginia man reportedly posed as a CIA agent to hide that he was married to two women.

David Jin Lee, 26, of Williamsburg, is married to a sailor based in Norfolk. He told her he was a CIA agent, authorities told WRC-TV in Washington, D.C.

Lee emailed his wife saying he needed money because he had been captured and tortured by North Korean agents on a mission to China. His story fell apart when the Naval Criminal Investigative Service started investigating and found out he had been staying at a Fairfax home with another woman.

Further interviews and searches revealed Lee was married to the Fairfax woman and had a child with her, authorities said. A marriage certificate at the Fairfax County Courthouse offered further proof. Bigamy is a felony in Virginia.

NCIS investigators took a CIA coin, a gun and items that could have been used to make fake CIA badges from the Fairfax home, reports WRC. Lee was tracked down in Williamsburg and arrested there.

Both families are cooperating and police call both victims.

"It's not every day that someone will go to these lengths to perpetrate such a fraud or a con against someone, and it seems to be, at least on the surface, pretty sophisticated and has been able to dupe, unfortunately, dupe two young ladies into his fraud," Buckley told WRC.
