Trooper injured in Williams County crash

An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened around 3pm on State Route 576 and County Road R near Pioneer.

Troopers say a car driven by Nathan Rios, age 25, of Angola, Indiana, went through a stop sign at County Road R and struck the cruiser of Trooper Gale Horn, who was southbound on 576.

Mr. Rios' car rolled over and landed on its top in a ditch. Trooper Horn's cruiser spun off the side of the road and came to rest in a ditch.

Mr. Rios and a passenger were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Trooper Horn was taken to Bryan Hospital for minor injuries and was later released.

Everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
