Crews investigate condo fire in 4000 block of Resolute Circle - Cincinnati News, Weather, Sports from FOX19 NOW-WXIX

Deck fire displaces 2 families in Colerain Twp.

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Two families have been displaced following an overnight fire in Colerain Township.

Fire units responded to a fire on the deck of a condo in the 4000 block of Resolute Circle just before 2:40 a.m. Tuesday morning. A resident of the condo alerted the Colerain Fire Department of a glow outside her bedroom window.

Officers arriving on the scene found the decks of two condos fully engulfed in flames. Fire crews say the flames from the deck extended into the structure.

The exterior fire was quickly extinguished and crews entered the building to check for extensions. Firefighters found that the fire had extended into both attic spaces. Smoke damage was widespread.

Firefighters say that two families have been displaced following the fire. Both families are being assisted by friends and family.

All other occupants were allowed back in the building after being checked for carbon monoxide.

The building contained six units. Authorities say all occupants escaped and have been accounted for. No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. However, it has been determined that the fire started outside of the walkout basement of one of the units.
