A mobile home fire in north Phoenix took the lives of 20 dogs and cats Wednesday night.
The Daisy Mountain Fire Department said all the pets were inside when the fire broke out about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near 16th Street and Carefree.
Firefighters rescued several other dogs that were in a pen outside of the home.
Firefighters fought the blaze with no hydrants. Fire officials said the mobile home was saved using tank water.
No one else was hurt. The homeowners weren't there at the time.
