I am so sorry I missed the update last week but I am back with lots of updates for week 7.
Over the course of the last week or so, the new restrooms have begun to take shape. The electrical and plumbing rough in is done and drywall is being hung.
Walls have been knocked out to make room for my boss' new office.
Our assignment desk is being moved to the other side of the room to create a workflow that allows them to talk to everyone in the newsroom. Contractors are framing that area now but work has been paused while we wait for a city inspector to look at the electrical work. They just have to make sure everything is done perfectly before the guys seal it in.
One cool change that still kind eerie is the disappearing staircase. Before the remodel, we had a narrow, dangerous shortcut staircase that led to the basement. To be a real Xer, you had to at least stumble down it once. It wasn't up to code so it's been filled in to make room for our big new space.
Thank you for keeping up with us! I will have another update next week, promise.
