MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

Authorities in Maricopa County have released a sketch of a man who attacked a 16-year-old girl in Mesa and they're looking for your help.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said the teen was attacked about 6 p.m. Tuesday near Crismon Road and north of University Drive.

The man had a knife and tried to grab the girl from behind.

"She was able to get away from him with minimal scrapes, and bruises and scratches," said Officer Chris Hegstrom with MCSO.

The man is described as Caucasian, 5'9'' to 5'10'' tall and about 150 pounds. He's about 30 years old with a medium build, light-colored blue or green eyes, and short blond hair with a goatee.

"This appears to be an isolated incident at this time and we're just hoping we can figure out who he is," Hegstrom said.

Neighbors said with so many schools in the area, they hope the man is caught soon.

"I don't know who would do something like that but, yes, it's concerning," said Adam Chesley.

Anyone with information is asked to call MCSO at 602-876-1011 and reference #13-159953.
