NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - The Pet Spot, a pet care facility that closed its doors after three local dogs died, reopened on Monday.

The dogs died after coming down with a sudden illness, one of which belonged to FOX19 Meteorologist Frank Marzullo. According to the owners, they all showed symptoms of violent rectal bleeding and vomiting and died within a matter of days.

According to the owners, they all stayed at the Pet Spot in Norwood in early August. The facility temporarily closed its daycare awaiting test results.

The Pet Spot posted on their Facebook page, which reads in part: "While we don't have definitive answers on what caused the illness, thorough testing of our facility indicates it is safe to reopen our daycare. Over 100 test swabs were performed on the daycare, boarding, grooming and outside areas. All came back negative (clean)."

The cause of the illness has not yet been confirmed. will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
